HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman al-Saud

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman al-Saud brings a wealth of experience and perspective that will be invaluable as this conference navigates the complex challenges facing the sector.

In 2019, Prince Abdulaziz made history as the first royal to be appointed Minister of Energy. He is best known for his crucial role spearheading the OPEC+ alliance with Russia, helping to stabilise global oil markets by managing production levels. His balanced approach considers both market forces and the strategic interests of producers and consumers.

As minister, he oversees Saudi Arabia's domestic and international energy policies, aligning them with the strategic goals of Vision 2030. His purview spans oil, gas, electricity, nuclear and renewables sectors across the Kingdom.

Prince Abdulaziz began his journey in the energy sector at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, managing the university's research institute and economic division. He has helped shape Saudi energy policy since 1987, when he entered the energy ministry as an advisor, later becoming deputy minister (1995) and then assistant minister (2005).
