Pierre Andurand

Pierre Andurand is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Andurand Capital, a fundamental discretionary hedge fund management company specialized in commodities trading and the energy transition. Andurand Capital was founded in 2013 and manages $1.2bil across four funds. A leader in energy fund management and an outspoken advocate for climate action, Pierre launched a climate-focused fund in 2021 underpinned by his acknowledgement of the need for society to move towards a net-zero carbon future.

From 2008 to 2012, Pierre was co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of BlueGold Capital, a commodities hedge fund, which had a peak AUM of $2.4bil. His hedge fund net cumulative returns since 2008 are around 2,000%.

Pierre has a 23-year experience trading and navigating the commodities markets. He started his career in 2000 at Goldman Sachs in Singapore, and then Bank of America, before joining Vitol as a partner in 2004, and subsequently founding BlueGold Capital.

Pierre is also an accomplished venture capital technology investor, and an entrepreneur, having founded GLORY, the world’s leading kickboxing promotion.

He is a polymath and a life-long learner, with seven master’s degrees in various fields (Computer Science at Columbia, Theoretical Physics at Oxford, Astrophysics at Queen Mary, Finance at HEC, Applied Mathematics at INSA, Computational and Applied Mathematics at Johns Hopkins, and International Strategy and Diplomacy at the LSE).
